H. Edward "Eddie" Knox is the managing partner of Knox, Brotherton, Knox & Godfrey. He is a Board Certified Trial Specialist with the National Board of Trial Advocacy. Eddie was chosen by North Carolina attorneys and recognized by the Business North Carolina magazine as a 2003 Legal Elite and again as a 2005 Legal Elite. Eddie has an AV rating by Martindale-Hubbell which is a very high to preeminent rating by his peers. He is also the recipient of the Super Lawyers Award for 2007 and 2008.
Eddie was a Babcock Scholar and received his Juris Doctorate degree at Wake Forest Law School. He graduated from North Carolina State University as the most distinguished graduate in the School of Education. Eddie served as President of both the Law School Student Body and NC State Student Body and chairman of numerous state commissions and local community organizations.
Eddie has served the community as a State Senator, Mayor of Charlotte and chairman of numerous state commissions and local community organizations.
Eddie's active practice includes trial work in the areas of personal injury, medical malpractice, and worker's compensation and condemnation. He and his wife, fellow attorney Frances S. Knox, try personal injury cases as a team.
Eddie loves golf and is the owner/developer of Verdict Ridge Golf and Country Club, located just north of Charlotte in Denver, N.C. Eddie and Frances Knox have three children and seven grandchildren and are active members of Bethel Presbyterian Church in Cornelius, NC. He is also a member of "Witness", a southern gospel quartet.
